Important

  • If you are upgrading from an existing installation of DocRecord, you MUST first follow the instructions in Upgrading to DocRecord v4.1.

  • Otherwise, for a clean installation simply follow the instructions in the "DocRecord Installation Guide" PDF file.

ENHANCEMENTS:

DESKTOP CLIENT

  • Added "Load In Native Application" button to the Document Viewer's "Main" ribbon bar, making it simple to open the current file in its native Windows application.

AUTOMATION SERVER

  • Added new version of IRIS OCR engine.

  • Optimized the generation of searchable PDF files from scanned images. 

CHANGES:

GENERAL

  • SmartInspect logging has been added in the form of ".sil" files, providing detailed debugging information for each DocRecord server component.  This helps expedite the troubleshooting process for complex issues observed in the product.  These ".sil" logs will grow up to a maximum size of 15 MB per server component and then begin to overwrite the oldest entries first.

DOCUMENT SERVER/SERVER MANAGER

  • The Full Text Index Maintenance option has been removed from the Server Manager.  Instead, a more optimized version of this tool may be run by going into the "\Server\Tools\Indexing" folder of the DocRecord installation directory ("C:\Program Files (x86)\Prism Software\DocRecord\Server\Tools\Indexing" by default) and running the "Rebuild Document Index.exe" executable.

    Note: You will be prompted for a starting Document ID value to begin the rebuilding of the full-text index database on.  If you wish to rebuild the entire database, you can simply press "Enter" to skip this prompt.

FIXES:

DOCUMENT SERVER/SERVER MANAGER

  • Description Expression value is not set properly for documents that are sent to Awaiting Commit.

  • Folder retention policy fails for empty folders.

  • Relation rules run for documents in Awaiting Commit before they are actually committed.
     
  • Auto populate not working with MySQL data sources.

  • DocRecord database installation encounters errors when attempting to install on SQL Server instances that are configured to be case-sensitive. 

AUTOMATION SERVER

  • Documents fail to process if OCR zones fall outside the viewable bounds of the OCR Template Editor.

  • Form templates cut off text on the right side of the page if larger than a certain size.

  • Certain Data Matrix barcodes and MICR text fields fail to recognize properly in the OCR Template. 

  • Trigger zones begin to fail to recognize on some of the pages in a batch when continuously processing files with many pages.

DESKTOP CLIENT

  • Error when checking out a document from the Document Viewer window for editable file formats, caused by a conflict with the Viewer and the native Windows application both trying to open the same file.

  • "Copy to Clipboard" option doesn't work if the document name contains invalid filename characters.

  • Document Viewer intermittently fails to highlight keywords in a document when it is closed and reopened.

  • Folder names show a question mark character when Chinese characters are used.

  • Intermittent error when adding annotations while the Document Viewer window is not in a maximized state.

  • When using the batch indexing feature to index multiple documents at once, the last document in the list does not actually get indexed.

  • Portfolio forms generate in the order that they were added in the category settings instead of in alphabetic order.

  • Error when searching on certain "Commit Date" options in the Advanced Search, such as "Within past week" and "Within past month".

OFFICE EXTENSION

  • Emails from public folders in Outlook fail to be submitted to DocRecord.

DESKTOP EXTENDER

  • Document from previous search displays in Document Viewer when there are no results in the current search.
