Important

  • If you are upgrading from an existing installation of DocRecord, you MUST first follow the instructions in Upgrading to DocRecord v4.1.

  • Otherwise, for a clean installation simply follow the instructions in the "DocRecord Installation Guide" PDF file.

ENHANCEMENTS

DESKTOP CLIENT

  • Scan File format can now be selected when scanning directly to the Desktop Client or Index Station.

DOCUMENT SERVER/SERVER MANAGER

  • License count and history information has been added to the Concurrent Client tab.
  • Added a new index rebuild utility which allows for the rebuilding of document content index for files which have already been indexed or previously failed to be indexed.

CHANGES/FIXES

GENERAL

  • Support for Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 have been added.

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2012 is now officially supported for use with DocRecord.

  • Now requires Microsoft .NET Framework v4.5.2

  • Due to minimum requirements with Microsoft .NET Framework v4.5.2, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, and Windows Server 2003 R2 have been removed from the list of supported operating systems.

DOCUMENT SERVER/SERVER MANAGER:

  • General improvements to the full text indexing update functions.
  • Fixed a bug which caused concurrent licenses to not release when expected.

AUTOMATION SERVER

  • Improved accuracy of Auto-Rotate function in OCR templates.

DESKTOP CLIENT:

  • General improvements to the performance and memory usage of the Desktop Client.
  • General improvements to the performance and memory usage of the Document Preview pane.

  • General improvements to search performance.

  • Constraints for Index Fields will now be applied before the Naming/Routing policy.
  • Addressed memory/deadlock issues when performing large permanent delete, batch update, and batch purge tasks.
  • Document path will now export properly when performing a category export.
  • Various issues with the Find and Replace feature have been addressed.
  • Improved folder load times for directories with numerous subfolders.
  • Fixed issue where document viewer would become stuck at 500%.
  • Fixed various security issues between Click Indexing, Extract Text, and Annotations.
  • Improved page count detection for supported document types.
  • Fixed issue with Naming/Routing policy where hyphens and spaces could be removed when editing categories.
  • Fixed issue which caused the Desktop Client to become unresponsive when trying to annotate a file that is in use by another process.
  • Improvements to region detection in regards to how date/time is displayed.

WEB SERVER/CLIENT:

  • Addressed an issue which caused web images to not update when original document content has been modified.

OFFICE EXTENSION:

  • The Office Extension Installer will now automatically install the add-ins for all users.
  • Office documents will now automatically save unsaved documents before submitting to DocRecord.
