Installing ScanPath Konica Minolta i-Option Connector

Installing Windows Roles and Features

Important: Prior to installing ScanPath Konica Minolta i-Option Connector, you will need to ensure that your environment meets all the product specifications. If ScanPath is not on the same server as ScanPath Server, it is recommended that you ensure your server meets all requirements.   1. Run the Windows Server Manager and select Add roles and features from the Dashboard.

  2. The Add Roles and Features window will appear. Navigate to the Server Roles tab.

  3. Under Web Server (IIS) - Web Server - Common HTTP Features, enable the following settings:

    Default Document

    Directory Browsing

    HTTP Errors

    Static Content

  4. Enable HTTP Logging under Health and Diagnostics and enable Static Content Compression under Performance.

  5. Under Security, enable the following settings:

    Request Filtering

    Basic Authentication

    Windows Authentication

  6. Under Application Develtioopment, enable the following settings:

    .NET Extensibility 4.6

    ASP

    ASP .NET 4.6

    CGI

    ISAPI Extensions

    ISAPI Filters

    Server Side Includes

    WebSocket Protocol

  7. Under Web Server (IIS) - FTP Server, enable FTP Service and FTP Extensibility.

  8. Within the Features tab, enable the following settings:

    .NET Framework 4.6.

    IIS Hostable Web Core

  9. Once you have enabled all required settings, Select Next to navigate to the Confirmation tab. Click the Install button. The installation process may take several minutes to complete.


ScanPath IIS/FTP Configuration

  1. Launch the ScanPath Configuration Tool and select the IIS/FTP Configuration Tool tab.

  2. Select the Configure IIS/FTP button to configure the IIS FTP Server. A dialogue will appear confirming you wish to change, modify, or remove existing FTP Server settings. Click OK to continue.

  3. A list of currently available MFP connectors will appear. Check the box next to the MFP connectors you wish to configure for IIS and click OK. After the IIS/FTP Configuration Tool has finished, click the Apply button to exit the ScanPath Configuration Tool window.


Installing The ScanPath i-Option Connector

Note: Before installation, make sure your system meets the system and hardware requirements. For more information, see Product Specifications.

Important: If you are installing a major version upgrade of ScanPath Konica Minolta i-Option Connector, such as upgrading from version 3.0 to version 3.5, it is recommended that you uninstall any existing version of ScanPath on your system before installing an upgraded version.

  1. Press the Windows key, enter Internet Information Services Manager into the search box, and press the Enter key.

  2. The Internet Information Services Manager window will appear. Select Application Pools from the Connections list.

  3. Within the Application Pools list, right-click on DefaultAppPool and select the Advanced Settings… option.

  4. Set the Enable 32-Bit Applications setting to True and click OK.

  5. To begin installation, enter the url you received in your download and licensing email in any browser and navigate to the ScanPath Konica Minolta i-Option Connector installer within Box.

  6. Copy the installation package to your system.

  7. Right-click on the installer and select Run As Administrator.

  8. The ScanPath Konica Minolta Setup window will appear. Click Next and continue.

  9. You may take a moment to read the license agreement. If you have any questions or concerns not covered within the license agreement, contact support@prismsoftware.com. When you wish to continue, click Next.

  10. Enter your User Name and Organization Name within the appropriate fields. When you have finished, click Next to continue.

  11. Review the current settings before installing the ScanPath i-Option Connector. Confirm that you wish to make changes to your system by selecting Install.

  12. The installation may take several minutes to complete.

  13. The ScanPath i-Option Connector Setup window displays that the ScanPath i-Option Connector successfully installed on your system. Click Finish to exit the ScanPath i-Option Setup window.


IIS Manager Advanced Settings

  1. Press the Windows key, enter Internet Information Services Manager into the search box, and press the Enter key.

  2. The Internet Information Services Manager window will appear. Select Application Pools from the Connections list.

  3. Right-click on Application Pools and select the Add Application Pool… option. Enter ScanPathKonicaMinolta into the Name field and click OK.

  4. Right-click on the ScanPathKonicaMinolta within the Application Pools list and select the Advanced Settings… option.

  5. Set the Enable 32-Bit Applications setting to True. Set StartMode to AlwaysRunning. Set the Idle Time-out (minutes) to 0. Set Disable Overlapped Recycle and Disable Recycling for Configuration Changes to True. Once you have selected all appropriate settings, click OK.

     

  6. Next, right-click on the configured app pool and select recycling. Disable all recycling options.

  7. Select ScanPathKonicaMinolta within Default Web Site under Sites and click the Advanced Settings… option within the right panel.

  8. Set Application Pool to ScanPathKonicaMinolta and click OK.

  9. Next select Basic Settings and verify that the application is set to the correctly configured app pool and click OK.

  10. Select Edit Permissions and add IIS_IUSRS with full control.


Installing SSL

If users wish to use https with the web client on the MFP, they will need to create a valid SSL certificate for the hosting server and additional settings will need to be configured in IIS, as detailed below. If not, it may be necessary to disable Certificate Verification Setting on MFPs using the admin client. The needed setting is in Security → Certificate Verification Settings

 

  1. To install SSL, press the Windows key, enter Internet Information Services Manager into the search box and press the Enter key.

  2. The Internet Information Services Manager window will appear. If https binding is not already enabled, right-click on Default Web Site under Sites and select the Edit Bindings option.

  3. The Site Bindings window will appear, select the Add button and open the Add Site Bindings window.

  4. Set the Type to https from the drop-down list and select the certificate you wish to apply from the SSL Certificate drop-down list. Click OK to apply the SSL certificate and exit the Site Bindings window.

  5. The certificate will need to be added to the Trusted Certificate Store of any MFP that has ScanPath installed with Web Host SSL enabled. Login to the MFP web connection as an administrator and go to Security → PKI Settings → External Certificate Setting and select New Registration to import the certificate.
