It is recommended to use Auto unless the MFP is unable to determine the size automatically, such as legal size in feeders on A4 devices.

Scan Paper Sizes

Scan Paper Sizes allows the user to choose a paper size manually if Standard is selected in Scan Sizes. This is best used if the MFP auto detect does not work with the desired format, such as legal size. LEF and SEF stand for long edge first and short edge first.

Separate Scan

The Separate Scan setting allows you to set the behavior for the printer after all available page have finished scanning. If the Separate Scan setting is enabled, the printer will prompt the user to confirm that all pages have been scanned. The user may select the option to continue scanning or finish the job. Set the Separate Scan setting to Yes to enable the printer behavior. Set the Separate Scan to No to disable the printer behavior. This setting requires a minimum API version of 4.9.

Printer Specific Issues

A4 Devices Scan Direction

On A4 devices, documents can only be fed into the document feeder short-side-first. For newer A4 devices, scans that were right-side-up are now sideways. Some devices may contain firmware settings which may be set by Konica Minolta to rectify this issue. If a process includes auto-rotation based on OCR, the user will not experience this issue.

Failed Conversion from TIF Using IT4 Devices

Note: Some IT4 printers, such as the bizhub 654, may experience issues when MFPs are configured to convert to TIFs using non-standard compression.

  1. To fix TIF conversion issues, access the MFP settings within the Utility settings.

  2. Within the Utility settings, navigate to the user settings and select the Scan Settings.

  3. Within the Scan Settings, set the Color TIFF Type to Modified TAG and click OK.
