Using Gmail in Scan to Email Configuration

If you are going to use Gmail as your SMTP Server, please use the following settings:

  • Server Type = SMTP Server
  • SMTP Server Address = smtp.gmail.com
  • SMTP Port = 465
  • Authentication Method = Auto
  • Security Mode = Tls1
  • Username = Your Gmail email address
  • Password = Your Gmail password
  • Default From = Your Gmail email address
  • Admin/Alert Email = Your Gmail email address

Even if you are authenticated at the MFP, emails sent using Gmail as your SMTP Server will always be sent from your Gmail account. This is due to the way Google handles authentication to prevent email spoofing.
