SMTP Server Test Failed: Socket connection has been refused by remote host. InnerException message follows: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.

Problem

When you try to test the Scan to Email Configuration, you get an error message that is similar to the following:

SMTP Server Test Failed: Socket connection has been refused by remote host. InnerException message follows: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.

Solution

  1. Verify the Port used by the SMTP Server.
