Stop DocPlus Service(s)

From the Start menu, open Windows Services List (Start > Run > “services.msc”). Select DocForm 5 Forms Server and Stop the service.

Note, if you have multiple DocForm services running, you will need to stop all services.

Backup server folder

Backup the Server, Library, and Variables folders. To view all active DocForm projects for all installed Services, open Windows File Explorer, browse to the folders of the DocForm installation directory ("C:\Program Files (x86)\Prism Software\DocForm 5\Server" by default). Perform a backup or copy these folders to a safe location.

Uninstall Current version of version of DocForm

To uninstall DocForm from your system, open the Control Panel, select Programs and Features, and navigate to the DocForm 5 Professional. Right-click on DocForm 5 Professional and select Uninstall from the menu. The Prism Setup Wizard window will appear and Select the Delete option and click the Next button. When complete, the Setup Wizard will display the DocForm successfully uninstalled from your system.

Install new version

To reinstall the new version, open the URL you received and download the Prism Software DocForm Installer. Once downloaded, right click the file setup.exe and select Run as Administrator. Follow all prompts from the installer until complete.

Ensure all relevant services are restarted

Next, ensure the service(s) are in a started state. Open Windows Services List (Start > Run > “services.msc”) to check if all relevant DocForm Services are running.

Test projects are operational and functioning as expected

Test existing projects and confirm functionality is working as expected.
