Recommended Scan Settings

For best throughput, quality, and file size, we recommend that the MFP scanner use the following default scanner settings: 

  • Scanner Format: TIFF
  • DPI: 300
  • Color Mode: B/W (1-Bit) for text only and fax documents or color (24-bit) for mixed content and images

Scanning in grayscale mode is NOT recommended as it can create files that are larger than same files scanned in 24bit color based on the image compression that is available.
