Operating Systems Platforms Supported

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 (Standard Edition and Higher)

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2012 (Standard Edition and Higher)

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 (Standard Edition and Higher)

While it is recommended to install ScanPath on a server operating system, ScanPath may also be installed on the following client operating systems, provided that there are no more than 5 MFPs connected to it:

  • Microsoft Windows 7 (Professional Edition and Higher)

  • Microsoft Windows 8.1 (Pro Edition and Higher)

  • Microsoft Windows 10 (Pro Edition and Higher)

Windows limits the number of concurrent connections that can be made to these client operating systems, so the 5 MFP limit helps ensure that the Windows concurrent connection limit is not reached. For ScanPath installations involving more than 5 MFPs, you must use a server operating system.

Hardware Platform Requirements

A ScanPath installation requires at least 1 hardware server with the configuration listed below:

  • 4 GB of system RAM or greater

  • 500 MB of free hard disk space for installation files (additional hard disk space required for user data)

A domain controller server may NOT be used as the hardware server for ScanPath.

A dedicated server is required if there are 30 or more MFPs connecting to it. No more than 50 MFPs should be connected to a single ScanPath Server.

If the ABBYY OCR engine is being utilized instead of the IRIS OCR engine, an additional 500 MB of free hard disk space is required for installation files.

Additional Software Requirements

  • Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 SP1, 3.5, and 4.0
  • Microsoft IIS (Internet Information Services) with FTP Service
  • Windows Firewall disabled or TCP port exceptions created for the following: 21, 1560, 8880, 25001, 50001, and 50003.

  • No labels
