PrintPath Server

Operating Systems Platforms Supported

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 (Standard Edition and Higher)

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 (Standard Edition and Higher)

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2012 (Standard Edition and Higher)

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 (Standard Edition and Higher)

Hardware Platform Requirements

A PrintPath installation requires at least 1 dedicated hardware server with the configuration listed below:

  • 4 GB of system RAM or greater

  • 4 processor threads or greater (i.e. the number of processor threads combined across all the processor cores must total at least 4)
  • 750 MB of free hard disk space for installation files (additional hard disk space required for user data)

A domain controller server may NOT be used as the hardware server for PrintPath Server.

Additional Software Requirements

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, or 2014 (Express Edition and Higher)

Please note the following regarding Microsoft SQL Server:


  • If you are using the SQL Server Express Edition, please note that there are various limitations including a database size limit and the inability to scale up in terms of performance.  For this reason, the Standard Edition or higher is recommended for use with PrintPath in larger environments.

  • In addition, when the database size limit of the Express Edition is eventually reached and an upgrade to a full edition of SQL Server is required, the customer shall be solely responsible for performing this upgrade.  If the customer would like Prism to assist with this SQL Server upgrade process, Prism professional services must be purchased as billable hours.
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2
  • Microsoft IIS (Internet Information Services) with FTP Service - Only needed if using scanning related features in FollowPrint Connector
  • Windows Firewall disabled or port exceptions created for the following: 515, 1616, 5570, 5571, 9119, 9876, 24400, 24500, 24600, 26501, and 50003

Operating Systems Platforms Supported

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 (Standard Edition and Higher)

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 (Standard Edition and Higher)

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2012 (Standard Edition and Higher)

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 (Standard Edition and Higher)
  • Microsoft Windows Vista (Business Edition and Higher)

  • Microsoft Windows 7 (Professional Edition and Higher)

  • Microsoft Windows 8.1 (Pro Edition and Higher)

  • Microsoft Windows 10 (Pro Edition and Higher)

  • 200 MB of free hard disk space for installation files (additional hard disk space required for user data)

  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 (Client Profile)
  • Windows Firewall disabled or port exceptions created for the following: 515, 5571

  • Microsoft Windows 8.1 (Pro Edition and Higher)

  • Microsoft Windows 10 (Pro Edition and Higher)
  • Mac OS X (10.8 and Higher)
  • Chrome OS

Hardware Platform Requirements 

Each workstation running the PrintPath Notification Agent requires the configuration listed below:

  • 2 GB of system RAM or greater

  • 200 MB of free hard disk space for installation files (additional hard disk space required for user data)

Additional Software Requirements 

  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 (Client Profile)
