Important

  • If you are planning on upgrading from a previous version of DocRecord (prior to v5), please note the following:

    • The previous Web Client, which was based on Microsoft Silverlight, is no longer available and has been replaced with a new HTML5-based Web Client.
       
    • The Automation Server has been replaced with the Capture Server going forward in v5, but is still available (upon request) to allow for backward compatibility when upgrading from previous versions of DocRecord. Please note that v5 will be the last major version of DocRecord that supports the Automation Server. If you would like to convert your existing Automation Server configuration to use the Capture Server, please contact sales@prismsoftware.com for a professional services quote.
       
    • The Document Processing Server (DPS) has been replaced with the Workflow Server going forward in v5, but is still available (upon request) to allow for backward compatibility when upgrading from previous versions of DocRecord. Please note that v5 will be the last major version of DocRecord that supports DPS. If you would like to convert your existing DPS configuration to use the Workflow Server, please contact sales@prismsoftware.com for a professional services quote.
       
    • If you would like to request a download link for the Automation Server or DPS, please contact support@prismsoftware.com and provide the current version and build number of DocRecord that you have installed.

  • Otherwise, for a clean installation simply follow the instructions in the "DocRecord Installation Guide" PDF file.

ENHANCEMENTS:

DOCUMENT SERVER/SERVER MANAGER

  • The Description Expression now supports the ability to extract the year, month, and day from Date type index fields.  (This is a carry-over of the same functionality that already existed in the Naming/Routing Expression.)  This makes it possible to customize the format of the date that is shown in the Description column as desired.

FIXES:

DOCUMENT SERVER/SERVER MANAGER

  • In certain environments, an error occurs when running the new tool to rebuild the full-text indexing.

AUTOMATION SERVER

  • Image-based PDFs that are converted to searchable PDF appear "blurry" when submitted to DocRecord.

  • Blank page removal option in trigger template doesn't consistently work across certain PDF files. 

DESKTOP CLIENT

  • Advanced search on index information fails for inherited categories.

  • When generating cover sheets, an "Access Denied" error may occur if the user doesn't have permissions to a folder that was newly created by the Naming/Routing Expression, or if the user is assigned to a user role with the default mode of "Allow Access".

WEB SERVER/CLIENT

  • Optimized the loading of folders for environments where there is a very large number of folders at a single level.

  • Optimized the time it takes to log into the Web Client. 

OFFICE EXTENSION

  • Emails in Outlook containing a tab character in the Subject fail to be submitted into DocRecord.
