If you are installing a major version upgrade of DocRecord, such as upgrading from version 5 to version 6, it is recommended that you uninstall any existing version of DocRecord Desktop Client on your system before installing an upgraded version. The backup and restore procedure for DocRecord is as follows: |
To begin installation, navigate to the DocRecord Desktop Client.exe installer from the install package, under the path DocRecord CD\DocRecord\.
Info title Note Before installation, make sure your system meets the system and hardware requirements. For more information, see Product Specifications.- Copy the installation package to your system.
- Right-click on the installer and select Run As Administrator.
- The DocRecord Desktop Client Setup window will appear. Click Next and continue.
You may take a moment to read the EULA. If you have any questions or concerns not covered within the EULA, contact support@prismsoftware.com. When you wish to continue, click Next.
Info title Note The Next button will not be enabled until you scroll to the end of the document. Clicking Next indicates that you accept the terms and conditions within the license agreement
- Select your destination folder. Your system's available space is listed along with the total space required to install DocRecord Desktop Client. Click Next to continue.
- Enter a program group name, select your preferred shortcut option, and click Next.
- Confirm that you wish to make changes to your system by selecting Next.
- The installation may take several minutes to complete.
Enter your DocRecord Server Name into the Remote Host field. It is recommended to keep the Port Number as the default port 1500. Select OK to continue.
Info title Note If you do not know your DocRecord Server Name, contact your DocRecord Administrator.
- The DocRecord Desktop Client Setup Wizard displays that DocRecord Desktop Client successfully installed on your system. You may run the DocRecord Desktop Client immediately after installation by checking the Run DocRecord Desktop Client now box.
