Problem

The ScanPath Processes at the MFP are accessible, but after scanning a document, the job is immediately deleted or fails to transmit.

Solution

The following solution assumes the ScanPath configuration is utilizing the standard FTP Service for file transmission from the MFP to the ScanPath Server. (Embedded FTP or WebDav may have similar symptoms, but may require additional troubleshooting.)

  1. Verify the Windows FTP Service is started on the ScanPath Server and that Port 21 is listening and not used by a third-party FTP Server (such as FileZilla Server).
  2. Verify the ftp://servername/ScanPath/ directory is able to be written to by a system outside of the ScanPath Server.
    1. Open Windows Explorer on a workstation and connect to ftp://servername/ScanPath/
    2. Create a folder.
    3. Delete the folder.
  3. Re-Run the ScanPath FTP/IIS Confguration utility from within the ScanPath Configuration Tool if connectivity cannot be verified from another workstation.
  4. Verify the MFP device itself is not configured to utilize an FTP Proxy or Redirect settings which could interfere with the FTP transmission of ScanPath Scans from the device to the server.
