  • DocRecord Databases in Microsoft SQL Server – There are two four databases that are installed by DocRecord: DocRecord, DRAudit, PrismEFormDb, and DRAuditPrismWorkflowDB.   Both  All the databases will need to be backed up in the event of disaster recovery, and can be backed up using SQL Server Management Studio’s backup/restore tools, or through a third party backup software.

  • DocRecord Document Storage Location – This is the Windows directory where the actual DocRecord files are being stored.  To identify the storage location currently being used, please go into the "Storage Location" section of the DocRecord Server Manager.  Also, please make sure that Windows security is set accordingly on this storage location folder so that users are not going into this folder directly and modifying the contents.

  • DocRecord Web Images Storage Location – This is the Windows directory where the images for the DocRecord files are being stored; these images are used when viewing documents over the Web Client (applicable only if you have the DocRecord Web Server installed).  To identify the storage location currently being used, please go into the "Tools > Server Configuration" section of the DocRecord Server Manager and click on the "Other Settings" tab; you should see the storage location in the "Image Path" field.  Also, please make sure that Windows security is set accordingly on this storage location folder so that users are not going into this folder directly and modifying the contents.
     
  • DocRecord Thumbnails Storage Location – This is the Windows directory where the thumbnails for the DocRecord files are being stored for use in the Desktop Client and Web Client.  To identify the storage location currently being used, please go into the "Tools > Server Configuration" section of the DocRecord Server Manager and click on the "Other Settings" tab; you should see the storage location in the "Thumbnails Path" field.  Also, please make sure that Windows security is set accordingly on this storage location folder so that users are not going into this folder directly and modifying the contents.

  • DocRecord Index Directory – This folder contains important indexing information for performing full-text searches, so this will need to be backed up regularly as well.  By default, this directory is “C:\Program Files (x86)\Prism Software\DocRecord\Index”.  To identify the specific directory being used in your environment, please go into the "Tools > Server Configuration" section of the DocRecord Server Manager and click on the "Logs" tab; you should see the directory in the "Index" field.
     
  • Capture Server Installation Directory - This folder contains the configuration data for the Capture Server processes and template sets.  By default, this directory is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Prism Software\Capture Server".

As long as the above items are backed up on a regular basis, you will be able to restore your DocRecord database in the event of disaster recovery.
